As first graders move through the 1^st year old Elementary School life, there are many firsts. The first sports day, first open class, first field trip and now the class of 77回生 has finished their first English speech!

          The students started by drawing their favorite foods at home as homework. Then they brought back their ideas, the students learned the names of a wide variety of foods, including Japanese foods that are also popular overseas. They enjoyed learning that people around the world eat food like themselves.

            As the students continue to learn to speak more English, the teachers will continue to ask the students to express themselves with vocabulary that matches their own feelings. Students at Hibarigaoka Elementary school will continue to be encouraged to express their true feelings.
