Spring is in full bloom!

Spring is my favorite time of year. It starts with the cold winter and plum blossom. We know the cold is near. I then start looking for other signs. The afternoons slowly get longer, the trees on the road I use while driving to school each day slowly starts to show shades of pink, then green. Finally, the mountains are all a brilliant color of green. The warm sun is thawing all living things from there winter slumber.

As a teacher, one of the things I really enjoy about Hibarigaoka Gaukuen elementary school is all the seasonal changes we can observe right outside the classroom. All students have plenty of opportunities to observe the range of changes in the large variety of plants found around campus.

Outside the 1 Niji class in the “Bell hiroba” there is a large planter filled with different varieties of tulips. This past week there was a beautiful variety leaning towards the sun.

I too, feel like those tulips. The sun makes me energized and ready for the new seasons.
