Along with the usual morning homeroom class activities such as daily helper speeches, role call, typing practice, etc., this year students have been allocated a new time to participate in silent reading. Students can fully immerse themselves into the books that they choose with no disturbances.

Our third graders really seem to be enjoying this new time since it gives them the chance to step away from reality for a bit and enjoy exploring different topics that they themselves find interesting.

In a time and age where a simple act such as reading a book is becoming more and more common to be done on an electronic device, it is nice to see the students being able to have more chances to enjoy connecting with actual books. We hope that through this time, our students are able to foster an interest in reading as well as helping them to develop their imagination and creativity.
