Kewpie Factory tour (3年生)

In relation to the current social studies topic that they are studying, our third graders took an excursion to the Kobe Kewpie factory located in Kobe this week. It was a beautiful day, and the students were able to have a nice trip to the factory.

The students first learned about the main ingredients that are used in making Kewpie mayonnaise. From there they went around the lobby area learning about different types of vegetables that pair well with Kewpie mayonnaise and all the benefits those vegetables have on the body.

They also had an amazing time touring through the actual factory and saw some of the steps in the mayonnaise making process as well as how the products are packaged and readied to be shipped and sold. They also got to see the uniforms the factory workers wear to keep a high quality of control standard.

After finishing up the tour of the factory, the students were able to enjoy their lunches at a nearby park. The weather was beautiful, and they got to enjoy playing on the park equipment after finishing their lunches.

Along with the great experience the students were able to participate in, everyone also received a small gift of mayonnaise that they will be able to take home and share with their families. We hope the students will be able to appreciate a bit more about not only where mayonnaise comes from, but also have a better understanding of where other products they consume come from and how they are made.
